Senior Electrical Engineer
Luminator is a leading innovator in the design and manufacturing of communications and lighting products for more than 80 years in transit, rail and aerospace industries. We are continuing to build our dynamic team by adding a Senior Electrical Engineer – Mass Transit.
Luminator offers an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer who is looking for opportunities to contribute in PCB design/development and system architecture design for new product development. This position requires a range of electrical engineering skills, communication skills, and ability to mentor more junior electrical engineers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Development and documentation of system architecture and requirements
Ability to communicate technical design decisions
Ability to analyze design decisions across multiple projects, looking for:
System-level design decisions for optimal portfolio design
Analog and Digital Circuit Design, specifically:
Switching DC/DC power supply design
Constant Current Regulator Design
EMI/EMC design considerations
Schematic capture in OrCAD
Working with CMs for board stack-up and DFM considerations
Working with PCB Layout Designers to give board requirements and layout guidelines
Review of PCB layout
Documenting/Executing and teaching junior engineers or techs to do PCB bring up & test
Mentoring more junior engineers in PCB design and best practices
Reviewing other designs for functionality and best practices
Working with cross-functional teams such as mechanical or software to maintain good communication and proactive identification/mitigation of potential design issues
Obsolete part management / Alternate part identification
Troubleshooting / Failure Analysis of systems down to the PCB component level
Other duties as assigned
Superior knowledge/experience in regards to design documentation practices
Analog/Digital Circuit Design experience
PCB Layout review experience
Troubleshooting / Failure Analysis experience
Simulations in programs such as LTSpice
Familiarity with Allegro for board layout
Board Design specifically with LEDs or driving LEDs

Minimum 15-years of electrical engineering design experience, specifically in PCB design and fabrication for new product development
